PhD student - Research Group Quantum Communication Systems

Short Biography Timm Gao completed his master´s degree in Physics with applied orientation in the Group of Prof. Reitzenstein at the Institute of Solid State Physics of Technical University of Berlin. During his Master thesis he gained experience in the field of quantum key distribution (QKD) by developing a receiver module for BB84 QKD.

He joined jAG Heindel at TU Berlin in autumn 2018 as PhD student working on the development and analysis of components for, and the implementation of quantum key distribution in the framework of the project QuSecure.

Students interested in the development of components for QKD-systems based on quantum-dot single-photon-sources and who are looking for an interesting topic for their thesis are welcome.
