Lucas Rickert, M.Sc.

PhD student - Research Group Quantum Communication Systems

Short Biography Lucas Rickert completed his master’s degree in Nanoscience at the Institute of Nanostructure Technologies and Analytics of the University of Kassel in Germany, where he finished his master thesis on fabrication and characterization of telecom wavelength InP-based Photonic crystal cavities in the Nanooptics Group of PD Dr. Mohamed Benyoucef at Technological Physics group of Prof. Dr. Johann Peter Reithmaier. Lucas‘ research interests are, among others, integration of quantum dots into photonic structures and nanofabrication techniques, especially electron beam lithography and dry etching processes.

He joined the Junior Reserach Group jAG Heindel at TU-Berlin in autumn 2018 as a PhD student working on the fabrication of deterministic QD-based single-photon sources for quantum communication applications in the framework of project QuSecure. Lucas already enjoyed supervising students during their thesis research at University of Kassel, and students who are interested in nanofabrication and characterization of single-photon sources and who are looking for a thesis topic are very welcome.
