Raman and optical near-field spectroscopy
Our research activities focus on the physical properties of nanostructures, in particular carbon nanotubes, graphene and nanoribbons, Si clusters, as well as biomolecules such as carotene and photosystem I/II. We study their optical, vibrational and electronic properties and the interaction between their electronic and vibrational systems.
Our experimental methods are resonant Raman scattering, Raman scattering combined with scanning probe techniques (TERS, AFM, STM) and photoluminescence. We support our experiments and interpretations by theoretical methods, e.g. first-principles calculations, group theory, and numerical simulations of experimental results.
